Who is he? What's it to you, buddy? The combative New Jerseyan is in his second term as governor and previously served as a U.S. attorney. Is he running? Christie kicked off his campaign June 30 at Livingston High School, his alma mater. Who wants him to run? Moderate and establishment Republicans who don't like Bush or Romney; big businessmen, led by Home Depot founder Ken Langone. Can he win the nomination? Doubtful. The tide of opinion had turned against Christie even before the "Bridgegate" indictments. Citing his horrific favorability numbers, FiveThirtyEight bluntly puns that "Christie's access lanes to the GOP nomination are closed."
